PRESENCE & PLAY IN PARENTING: Mantras (and more!) for Mamas

Some say singing in itself offers us the similar nourishing, uplifting benefits of meditation - the attention to breath, the focus on the present moment. I think most would agree that It is a great practice to support the free happy flow of prana (healing energy) in our bodies! Having ways to move the energy and plethora of emotions of motherhood is key to our sustained mama well-being, clear connection to our self and to our health in general. The beauty of this practice is that it is mama-and child friendly. Singing aloud is in our DNA and centering, grounding and freeing. 

It's a handy "off-the-mat" presence/happy-making practice that you can do anytime, anywhere - and with your children. 

This morning mini-workshop is for moms (or dads) who would like to bring more peace, joy and connection to their home in a playful way and would like some new material to play with! Parents with children of all ages are welcome but for this workshop there will be an emphasis on the power of song in the the first 7 years of a family's life with a focus on mother and child well-being.

The workshop weaves together threads from several different sources: mantras from my Kundalini Yoga teacher training, key concepts regarding singing and adrenal and hormonal health for moms from my Naturopathic Teacher Training, child brain development and consciousness gems from Waldorf teacher trainings and my personal experience (singing with my family, my guitar mama tribe and children in the Nature Camps I have run over the years). In addition to the healing mantras you will learn favourite lullabies and songs for the day and be given the opportunity to create a song for your child following a simple done-4-you template.
