This retreat is for women like us who know that health, happiness and connection to Self are the foundation of fulfillment and joy in every area of our lives and are ready to stress less and live and love more!

This retreat is ultimately to nurture the most important relationships in our life … the one we have with ourselves and our heart of joy. The best gift we can give to our kids, our family, our friends and ourselves (!) is to be connected to ourselves even a little bit more - a sign of that is that we are in our joy.

This week will be all. about. that! ✨

We hear a lot these days about the importance of self-care and self-love and this retreat is a journey of replenishing, reconnecting and resetting.

This retreat offers various yoga practices - the restorative yummy empowering practices of yoga Nidra, balancing breath work & meditation, yoga therapy to release tension and support flow and well-being, and the elevating, playful practices of mindfulness in motion and dance. We will drop out of our heads and into our hearts with right-brain artsy activities like soul collages and vision boards and of course get right into nature and let her work her magic on us.

Picturesque Xinalani Eco Yoga Resort, on the warm and nurturing Mexican coastline, is an ideal location to take a week for yourself. And the third week of November is THE perfect time to step out of the cold and pre-holiday busyness. As women who care deeply in roles of leadership, mothering and care-taking we often flat out forget to honor our need for play and rest. It can be difficult to hear our intuition/soul’s whispers above the have to’s and gotta do’s and what do I cook for dinner and who needs to be driven where. We can seem to lose connection a little or a lot to ourselves and our joy amid the busy. This retreat is a reclaiming and deepening of our connection. Excellent retreat for women in transition or who would love a conscious delicious pause in November with amazing women.

We have set up some opportunities for you to be a kid again and ignite your creative juices and inherent playfulness as part of the week. You are also welcome to bring a musical instrument or some creative medium you know you love if you’d like as there will be lots of free time for you.

When we create space to listen and be fully in the moment increased energy and creativity emerge …

 Xinalani translates to “seed” and we will be planting and nurturing the seeds of connection and care for ourself, presence and joyful embodiment through activities including these various types of yoga and mindfulness practices as well as right brain artsy soul inquiry activities such as collaging and poetry. Re-energize your mindfulness practice not to get better at meditating but to get better at life! Come home connected to your calm, confidence and essence of joy.

We will start each morning with a mindfulness practice down at this beach. Ahhhh (-:

Really anyone’s life and health will benefit from nourishing self-care, time and space for personal reflection and reconnection and spending time in such exquisite beauty as this Mexican coastline! We do see this being a real game changer for conscious women - mothers, health care practitioners, entrepreneurs, caregivers and any woman in a leadership role who would like to tap into renewed clarity and confidence and a loving, celebratory relationship with herself!

No yoga or meditation experience is necessary as we can modify for your level.

FREE TIME OPTIONS

There will be spacious free time every day for you to fill or not fill with whatever your heart chooses. There are options at the retreat and near by for both adventure (hiking, whale watching, swimming with dolphins) and relaxation. We recommend to take at least some of this time to slow right down and be nourished (in joy) by the simple things.: read, walk barefoot in the warm sand, swim in the warm water, kayak, watch the sunset, drink tea, enjoy a massage or simply. do. nothing.(-:

Kayaks, snorkels and boogie boards are available to use as you like.

RETREAT FACILITATORS

Your retreat facilitators will be Dr. Monika Herwig ND, Dr. Zhiish McKenzie MD, a special guest, and the amazing staff at Xinalani. Dr. Monika is a mother, yoga teacher, nature lover and runs a naturopathic practice focussed on Mind-Body Health and Women’s Wellness. She works functionally and energetically with Adrenal/Hormone Health, Detox, Gut and Brain Health. Her 1-on-1 Mindfulness/Yoga Therapy sessions support women on the Mental/Emotional Level connecting to their intuition and releasing tension/fears in the body that limit self-expression. Her passion is supporting heart-centered women shine their light and share their gifts with the world in joy and without burning out in the process.. She has facilitated wellness programs, cooking workshops and retreats since 1999.

Dr. Monika Herwig has been practicing acupuncture for over 20 years and there will be the opportunity during the week to experience a special healing group yoga nidra that includes acupuncture. Bliss!

TECHNOLOGY AT THE RETREAT

The expectation is for this to be a technology free week. The WiFi is not consistent for one and this space is really for you to be fully present here in mind as well as body to yourself. If you have a commitment to connect that needs to happen by all means. Do whatever you can to get the most out of this unique experience around attending to just You (it’s just a week!) (-:

PRICING & BOOKING

All-inclusive packages start at the early bird shared accommodation price of just $1595 US and include 3 healthy gourmet meals/day (4 meals actually if you count the early am coffee/tea breakfast of fruit, yoghurt, granola, nuts and hard boiled eggs!), shuttle to and from the airport in Puerto Vallarta, return 30 minute boat ride to Xinalani, 7 nights deluxe accommodation, daily yoga and mindfulness classes and other retreat activities .

Our lovely retreat planner Cathy Wassermann is looking after you and the booking logistics this year again. She can be reached at cathy.wassermann@visiontravel.ca. She will send you the registration form and help you with booking, room selection, etc. Cathy can also help you find a good flight and answer any questions you may have around Xinalani itself - Cathy has retreated there several times!

To have your pick of the accommodation option you would like, do reserve your spot sooner than later. At last year’s She Shines Retreat here we sold out and had to turn women away. )-: There are limited rooms and the retreats at Xinalani have a habit of filling up!
